#CFsweats—CollegeFashionista's Ultimate Workout Playlist

May 7th, 2015 at 2:00am

There is a lot that goes into a great workout beyond the exercises themselves. Sure, the right sneakers help me run pain free and finally sticking my crow pose may partially be credited to my favorite yoga mat. But the one thing that really allows me to perform my best when working out is music.

Music is transformative. I simply pop in my earbuds, crank the volume louder than medically advised and completely focus on myself and my workout. When my legs are on fire in the middle of a spin class, I focus on keeping pace with the high energy jams to get through it. When I don’t feel like going for a run, I allow music to motivate me by making a themed playlist (because no one is more motivating than Beyoncé, right?). The right music allows me to dig deep and push through the pain of an extra mile or another rep.

To help motivate you to move this May, I have shared my top 20 favorite workout jams in a #CFsweats playlist. The songs span everything from hardcore rap to girl power anthems to indie pop. But one thing is consistent through each of them—that extra oomph that says, “You got this.”
