STYLE GURU STYLE: Home for the Holidays

Happy holidays Fashionistas/os! It is finally the most wonderful time of the year! After this semester of writing for CollegeFashionista and at the Fashion Institute of Technology, I have come to realize how important it is to have your own style.

After taking countless pictures and writing multiple articles about my friends and their sense of style, I finally have the chance to reflect on my own style and how it has changed over the years. It can definitely be said that I have the most basic and simple style, especially for someone living in New York City. I am all about finding simple, stable pieces to have in your wardrobe and adding different accessories to the outfit to make it unique every time you wear it.

Like many other people, I feel like my style is always changing. As of right now, this is my go-to look: jeans, a solid color sweater and booties which may seem like a boring look, however it leaves many options open for accessories. By adding a coat or a handbag or a hat it changes the look of the outfit and lets you use one of your favorite statement pieces.

As my time as a CollegeFashionista intern is coming to an end, I would like to acknowledge all that I have gained from this. I have learned how special each person’s fashion sense is, how important it is to staying true to you and how lucky I am to live in such a fashion-forward city. If there is one thing for you to take away from reading and writing these posts is that no ones approval and opinion of what you are wearing matters but your own. Wear whatever makes you happy.
