BEAUTY BAR: Highlight What's Important

To find my featured Fashionista I needed to look no further than the fashion building at my school. The fashion building is notorious for having the best dressed students in the school (for good reason), but this particular Fashionista stood out to me because of her flawless makeup. This Fashionista is a fashion design major with a love of makeup–she even uses her impressive skills to help fellow students on their photo shoots. When interviewed, this Fashionista’s number one piece of advice was simply, “practice a lot” because mastering eye shadow and other products takes time.

I asked this talented Fashionista to spill some of her beauty secrets and recommend some of her favorite products. To start off she recommends Morphe brushes for everyday makeup application. Some of her favorite drugstore products are NYX’s Contour and Correcting Palette, Lingerie Matte Gloss and Brow Gel, along with Maybelline’s Lash Sensation mascara. I asked her for some of her favorite makeup palette recommendations as well, she loves Anastasia’s Renaissance Eyeshadow Palette, BH Cosmetics, Carli Bybel Palette and Black Radiance’s Contour Palette.

This Fashionista believes that blending is the key to pore less perfection. I asked her to share some of her tips for making a face really pop, and her number one rule is highlighting. She recommends highlighting under your brows, the bridge of your nose, cupids bow and temples to give your face some depth and a natural looking glow. Interviewing this Fashionista was an eye opening experience as a relative newbie to make up. I’m defiantly planning to try out some of the products recommended above.
