STYLE GURU STYLE: Transitional Sheer Sweater

Since it’s still warm (read: very warm) here in Southern California, my wardrobe is still 90 percent dresses and tank tops. However, the fall-obsessed girl in me is itching to start wearing cozy sweaters and warm boots. Although I will definitely come to miss the days where I could just throw on a dress and sandals, I am so ready for cooler weather and a true autumnal atmosphere. Even though the weather isn’t cooperating with the season, I’ve already started to break out a few transitional pieces that aren’t going to make me have a heat stroke, but also make me feel like I’m dressing for the season. I love finding transitional pieces to add to my wardrobe, since they end up being some of my most useful items. During the school year, these are key for me since campus is always pretty warm, but my classrooms are always on the colder side!

This backless maroon sweater is on the thinner side and somewhat sheer, which is perfect for keeping me cool! I paired it with my favorite and trusty dark wash jeans (seriously, these babies last a lifetime). I also broke out my Tory Burch riding boots to really amp up the “fall” feel of this look, although if you want to keep your outfit more towards the summer vibe I would recommend a pair of colorful sandals. I’ve kept my jewelry simple with a few bracelets and a ring, but this look could easily be paired with some bright statement earrings or necklace. I’m hoping that the cooler weather will start rolling in soon so I can wear this type of outfit all the time!
