STYLE GURU BIO: Brenna Carlstrom

Hi, Im Brenna! I live and go to school in Los Angeles, so most of the things I wear are for the warm weather. I’d like to think of my style as laid back as L.A. but as cool as NYC. I’ve wanted to be a stylist for as long as I can remember. I worked for the coveted brand NASTY GAL and opened their first retail store (yay!) I’m currently studying Graphic Design to eventually become an Art Director.

Being in L.A., I am surrounded by so many stylish people. I gain my inspiration from others on the street, whether I’m here or in New York. I love to style anyone and everyone. I also have a lot of friends who are into fashion (one of my friends just bought a sweater instead of food) so we create looks together. Fashion is totally subjective and that’s what I love about it—it’s like art you can wear. I’m particularly into simplistic and minimalistic styles, but mixing it up within that. I love a good ’90s look (high-waisted jeans, crop tops, chokers, etc.) and I love clean, sporty looks (black and white, clean, oversized, structured, etc.) You never really can catch me in just jeans and a T-shirt unless that shirt has a cutout, a crop or some edge to it. I’m in love with lacy bralettes right now! My go-to outfit is a low-cut tank, a FL&L bra, some ripped jeans and booties. I’m looking forward to scouring my campus and all of LA for style and inspiration this summer!
