STYLE GURU BIO: Amanda Peterson

My name is Amanda Cathleen Peterson, and I am a junior at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. No, that has no affiliation with Indiana University. It is, however, the home of the late Hollywood actor, Jimmy Stewart, whose voice can be heard telling you when to cross the street on Philadelphia Street. And, if you’ve ever heard him speak, you’d understand how entertaining that is.

I am 20 (soon to be 21!) and am pursuing a career in public relations or marketing. I can most likely be found leaving lipstick smudges of various colors on every cup my lips touch, or freaking out over pictures of pugs. I have a pretty laid back style. In the warmer months, you will likely find me in a dress; in the colder months, you will definitely find me trying to make dresses warm enough to withstand the Pennsylvania winter. Heeled boots are a must. I am a firm believer that your outfit affects your mood; with the right outfit, I feel like I could run the world.

This is one of my favorites: a simple, babydoll dress from Forever 21 with a cutout in the back, a key design to add a flare of whimsy. I like to pair it with black tights and heeled boots (like I said, a must), and a maroon scarf to give the outfit a little color pop in contrast to the white and black. I live for casual, yet dressy, looks. No matter what you find me wearing, I am always wearing my Alex and Ani charm bracelets. I really like the special, sentimental meanings behind this one. I have charmed-arm envy for anyone who has a wrist full of them! Welcome to my world.
