STYLE GURU STYLE: Abstract Prints

Fall is finally here and that means bringing out the comfy, oversized sweaters, right? The trends you see around college are usually oversized T-shirts, sweaters or ponchos matched with the typical black leggings. Since I was young, I enjoyed layering in the fall. It is totally true that I am your typical fall loving Style Guru. I am usually very basic, but this season, I thought I would change it up a bit. I loved seeing all of the abstract prints this season. Tom Ford’s fall 2015 runway show presented the entertaining and crafting blooms of prints, giving you the aspect of expressing yourself on personal wearability, very similar to the ‘70s.

I have been so busy with school this semester and recently thought to myself that I deserved a seasonal shopping spree. When I got to the mall, I was so inspired by New York Fashion Week that it motivated me to get some new, glamorous pieces in my closet. I found this oversized poncho, which seemed so baggy and bold (not my typical taste). As the first day of fall rolled around, I woke up that morning with the thought of wanting to dress up my inspired runway look. I love the detailed leather trimmed pockets along with the abstract geometrical knit. It is definitely something you do not see every day. I am a lover of all things street style, and by giving the runway look more of my personal taste, I paired it with my favorite pair of boyfriend jeans. Runway looks may look unwearable, but there are unlimited ways of transforming any trends off the runway with your personal style.

My look is completed with a pair of neutral booties to transform the style into fall. I love how my oversized poncho has so many colors, leaving you with the choice of pairing different colored tops or a button-down denim dress with it.

Get My Look: 1. Geo-patterned poncho. 2. Basic shirt. 3. White boyfriend jeans.
