4 Ways to Try the Power Red Trend

Let’s be honest: keeping up with trends is a challenge. Luckily for us, the fashion gods have bestowed upon us the gift of “power red,” which is a trend that anyone can incorporate into their fall style. Often times, it’s hard to imagine wearing runway-depicted styles while living your daily life, but this fall, it’s time to break out your brightest rose-related hues.

Trends are always better when they work with what you already have in your closet, right? The only special pieces required to achieve a look inspired by this runway tendency are pieces that are an eye-catching, stop sign-esque red. As demonstrated by numerous fashion houses and big brands alike, some of the easiest ways to incorporate more red into your color palette this fall will be by sporting firehouse-red shoes, bright details, and colored tops.

1—Footwear

The best way to halt traffic? Fancy footwear, of course. Show off your sense of style and grab some extra attention with a pair of shoes that speak for themselves. Some of our favorite options for fall and winter fashion are slip-on sneakers, ankle boots, and embellished flats.

2—The little things

Being such a classic color, red lip colors and nail polishes are more than easy to come by. If you’re not feeling quite brave enough to break out an all-out color block look, minuscule beauty details will do the trick. Dip your toes in the water with some a polish, lip stain, or warm-hued eye shadow and you can save the more show-stopping looks for later.

3—Statement shirts

Although red bottoms would be a bit more difficult to come across—and much more of a challenge to justify wearing while walking to and from class—T-shirts and blouses in this season’s statement color can provide your outfit with the perfect amount of edginess. Additionally, if one of your school’s colors happens to be this fall’s go-to hue, you can hit two birds with one stone. We’re particularly attracted to colored graphic T-shirts and redesigned basics.
