STYLE GURU STYLE: McQueen Of Boho

The hardest part about going to New York City for the day is picking out the right outfit. I used Alexander McQueen’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection as inspiration for my look. Designer Sarah Burton showed off her Alexander McQueen line of romantic and graceful looking clothing. The detail in the line was absolutely extraordinary. This line featured a light, floral dress that I used as inspiration. I absolutely love the romantic boho look of this collection, so I just had to recreate it!

When I saw this dress at Free People I had to get it because I felt it captured the vintage, boho vibe. This is a great dress because it can also be worn as a tunic, like I did. I knew it was going to be kind of chilly in the city that day so I added a pair of leggings to stay warm. I paired it with my favorite GUESS boots because they are super comfortable, which is perfect for walking around the city! The tunic gave me a soft romantic look, but the boots gave me the city edge that I needed.

As for accessories, I wore a pair of sunglasses that I purchased from Charlotte Russe. I also paired this outfit with a soft, mauve colored Michael Kors cross-body bag. This color complemented the romantic boho look of my outfit. I added a classic, Casio digital watch to added to the vintage vibe.

I loved this outfit and was comfortable all day in the city! As you can see, I did a little shopping while I was there. Maybe I’ll feature my new goodies in my next article.

Get My Look: 1. Light tunic/dress. 2. Leggings. 3. Riding boots.
