STYLE GURU STYLE: Knee High and Neck Deep in Fall

On a normal chilly fall day, you can catch me wearing a comfy sweater, a pair of booties and an infinity scarf. However, when I’m looking to ditch my casual wear, a sweater dress and a pair of knee-high boots make a perfect outfit.

In J.W. Anderson’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, turtleneck dresses and knee-high boots are a common theme. My look was inspired by this collection. This Free People dress that I am wearing has uneven lengths and cuts, which resemble many of the pieces in this J.W. Anderson collection. The dress has a loose turtleneck, so I added a long necklace to accessorize my look.

Although I love the collection that inspired my outfit, I wanted my own personality to come through. One of the ways that I added my own touch on this look is the color scheme. I prefer neutral colors during fall but every once in a while, a muted blue tone is the perfect pop of color needed to light up an outfit.

Another way I added my own personal style into this look was the boot socks. In the J.W. Anderson collection, there aren’t any boot socks, but colored tights occasionally make an appearance. Boot socks are one of my favorite accessories for fall. They are the perfect combination of comfort and cuteness. That is why I chose to wear these ruffled knee-high socks over my boots to top of one of my favorite fall looks.
