STYLE GURU STYLE: Fallin’ for Fall

Tis’ my favorite season of all: fall. Halloween, orange leaves, pumpkin spice lattes, cinnamon scented candles… Need I say more?

Last weekend, I went back home to Chicago for fall break. Walking down Michigan Avenue, I saw that every store was filled with boots, scarves, fuzzy sweaters and jackets; I was super jealous! There aren’t many chilly days back in Los Angeles, so picking out a few of the new seasonal items wouldn’t make much sense for me. That’s why I jumped at the chance to pack along and make use of every sweater I owned, including this sweater set from Express.

This is the perfect outfit to rock before that below-zero temperature kicks in, and even more perfect for a girl who lives in LA all year round! Since it’s knit, I can still stay pretty cool in the California sun, even in the autumn and winter months. The same thing goes for the skirt. I matched it with a pair of tall black boots like these, but I can totally see it being worn with a pair of booties as well. You can create even more outfits by wearing the pieces separately!

As I’ve said before, I love wearing skirts and dresses. They’re so easy to throw on before class, so this will definitely be one of my go-to’s this season.

Going home to Chicago for the weekend was amazing. After growing up in the Midwest for 18 years, it definitely doesn’t feel like the holidays without that crisp autumn air. I never knew how much I missed it until now! What’s your favorite thing about fall?
