STYLE GURU BIO: Melissa Martinez

Hi there, Fashionista! My name is Melissa and I’m a Public Relations major and Music Industry minor at Syracuse University. Welcome back to school and a season full of warm blankets and color palettes. While interning in New York City, I had the chance to experience a hot city summer with some breaks to the coast and I’ve been waiting for chilly weather, thick scarves, hats and boots since last month.

There’s nothing like heading out into a rainy, fall morning for a warm cup of chai tea and catching up with friends. Going into my senior year, I’m taking you with me to spend the fall semester in London! I’ve waited so long to visit and get a first hand look at all the amazing style and RAD creatives from across the pond.

These next few weeks I’ll be mixing summer and fall essentials, like crop tops and hats, to adjust to this transitional weather. This outfit feels like the perfect segue into autumn with the velvet button down skirt and crop top. I’m so excited by the serious ’70s vibes in many of the fall/winter collections and will be wearing my new favorite high-waisted flare jeans even more this season. Here’s to an amazing season of dark lipstick, boots and scarves dug up from the back of the closet.

Make sure to follow me on CollegeFashionista for unique outfit inspiration from my campus to yours. Who else knows how to thrive, style-wise, in the cold rainy days of fall and winter than Londoners?
