STYLE GURU BIO: Maggie Arfman

Hi Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Maggie Arfman and  this is my third Style Guru bio! It seems like just yesterday I was a middle school girl dancing to The Jonas Brothers’ music in my room (wait I still do that now?) and now I am starting my sophomore year in college. I am so excited to be returning as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I cannot wait to see what this year will bring.

Last year I had a blast writing, photographing and spotting stylish students on campus at the greatest little university in America—Georgia Southern! The students, faculty and campus are amazing and I am honored to be able to showcase them on the greatest style website around—CollegeFashionista! Being a Style Guru has definitely taught me to go outside my comfort zone and approach stylish strangers with confidence. This internship has taught me so much about fashion and I love learning anything I can so I can eventually fulfill my dream of working in the fashion industry someday.

Being a Fashion Merchandising major and writing for my own personal blog, Outfit of the Day by Maggie, my personal style is constantly influenced by what’s going on around me. Of course, growing up in Georgia, my personal style tends to have a touch of southern flare. I love mixing styles and trends and my outfit above is no exception. I paired my trendy black and white graphic tee with my ‘90s-inspired denim skirt. I added my southern style fringe ankle boots and topped the look off with a classic maroon hat for a pop of color. This outfit is a also perfect representation of my personality because 1. I love trying out trends 2. I love throwbacks from the late ‘90s and early 2000s 3. I like keeping at least one part of my outfit classic.

My style grows as I grow as a person so it’s always important that I stay true to myself. My favorite piece of fashion advice is to always dress in a way that illuminates you. So, in the cheesy, yet wise words of Taylor Swift, remember that YOU never go out of style. I’m excited to see what styles Georgia Southern students bring to campus this year. Thank you so much for reading and remember to check back here for more posts!
