Happy fall, Fashionista/os! I’m Madeline and I am just beginning my sophomore year at Kent State University as a fashion merchandising major and a marketing and French minor!

Fashion for me has been something that I can use as an outlet, and even just as a hobby wherever and whenever I want. Throughout the past year as a fashion student I have learned so much about what it takes to make it in the industry as well as how you can stay true to your own style even when all you want to do is partake in all of the up and coming trends. Something that I have found that works for me is picking up on a few smaller trends, but then incorporating them into my own style to completely make a look my own. My typical, go-to style is usually something rather preppy, and if not preppy, something that incorporates some type of color; as much as I would like to look totally chic in black, there’s just something about wearing color that will serve as a pick-me-up.

I would consider myself a rather bubbly person and someone who loves to see the good in all things, so that could very well be where my love for color comes into play; color makes people happy. In this outfit in particular, I’m sporting my Lilly Pulitzer sunshine skirt with a basic white tank. Seeing the skirt has multiple colors and prints going on, you can never go wrong with a basic top to neutralize the look. To complete the look, I went with basic gold jewelry and metallic gold Jack Rodgers sandals in hopes of keeping all prep in order.

I’m so excited to spend another semester writing for CollegeFashionista; here’s to a RAD fall my friends!
