STYLE GURU BIO: Linda Thao

Hello, Fashionistas! My name is Linda. I’m a junior majoring in business administration professional track at Macomb Community College. I’m super excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and be a part of this internship. I can’t wait to learn and see where it takes me.

I always had an interest in fashion when I was younger and playing dress up with my older sisters. Then, when I got into the sixth grade is when I knew I really wanted to go into fashion. I always carried a drawing notebook with me to every class, and any free time that I had I would be sketching out a design for a dress. I would go through magazines to look for inspiration and check the latest fashion trends. From there, I made a list of plans and planned out my life, hoping that one day I’d be designing my own clothes.

I don’t really have a type of style. I like to try different types of styles and mix and match them, just like in this outfit. I don’t normally wear choker necklaces and pointy earrings. After incorporating them into the outfit, it made me feel more confident. The choker necklace and the pointy earrings give an edgy look to the outfit. This outfit is simple, yet stylish, for anyone going back to school. It’s easy to slip on and get out of. You can switch up the outfit by wearing sneakers instead of wedges, which would make walking on campus easier.

Besides fashion, I like listening to music, playing the guitar and knitting. I also make YouTube videos for my channel, lindaslookbook.

I am so excited for this semester, and I can’t wait to get to know everyone in the CollegeFashionista community!
