STYLE GURU BIO: Hannah Viau

Hello, Fashionistas/os! My name is Hannah Viau and I am a sophomore at Goucher College in Towson, Maryland. I do not have a major at the moment, but hopefully that will be changing soon!

Fashion is something that can be seen anywhere and everywhere because any person’s choice of clothing is a fashion statement, whether they know it or not. I have gone through countless style stages; as a child, I would change from dresses every day to extreme tomboy to jeans and plain T-shirts. High school did not expose me to fashion as much as I wanted it to; I was only able to take one class on textile design throughout my four years. I did, however, get involved in fashion in my own way. I would watch Project Runway religiously and would count down the days until the next red carpet event so I would be able to see what all the celebrities were wearing. I have always dreamed of being a part of the fashion world, and CollegeFashionista is allowing me to do so.

Sometimes I try to put my personal style into a few words or even into a sentence and nothing comes to mind that would make sense out loud. I could never quite put my finger on exactly what my style could be categorized under because each day brings a new inspiration and a new feeling about my clothing. Some days all I want to do is prance around in a simple dress, but on others, I need to put together a clean-cut outfit such as pants and a button-down. No matter my outfit choice, I will most likely have something floral close to me. College has really let me explore fashion and experiment with my own style because there is no judgment and sharing clothes is a given when roommates are in the picture.

I have been thinking about starting a photography blog with written pieces to go along with each photo with a friend of mine, but we just haven’t gotten around to it yet. Hopefully after learning more about how to keep up with a blog like CollegeFashionista, we will be straight on our ways to being bloggers!

I can’t wait to show the great fashion that my campus has to offer, with everything from casual to eclectic to sparkly. I will showcase Fashionistas/os with fashion senses that I think mirror mine in some ways. So you’ll see jeans and dresses along with classic and edgy styles, with something from everything in-between.
