BEAUTY BAR: When Red Is Right

The arrival of autumn inspires many changes: chambray button-ups are traded for cozy flannel shirts and autumn/winter’s key trends arrive in our wardrobes.  Yet some of us make the transition with the same hairstyle. This season in beauty trends, it’s all about making a statement—so go big or go home.  A new season is definitely the time to try something different with your locks.

This Fashionista recently went from having long golden locks to this gorgeous shade of aubergine and freshened her look completely with the just-above-the-shoulder-length cut.  Other fun fall colors to try this season include: balayage, salted caramel, chestnut brown and ash blonde.

As for this Fashionista’s outfit, her gray fitted dress is not only comfortable but super easy to dress up or down.  Here, she is sporting the ultimate fall-layered look with a men’s flannel, her acid-wash denim jacket and not to mention the super cute argyle socks (borrowed from her fiancé) with her loafers. This ensemble is perfect for when the temperatures start to really drop in Northwest Arkansas. It’s not only super cute but will also keep you warm and on-trend.

To complete this fresh makeup look you will need primer, foundation and powder to set said foundation for your base and the Naked 3 palette.  To apply your liner use a double-ended bamboo liner brush.  To contour, this Fashionista recommends investing in the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour kit. The last and ultimately most important step is to apply a generous amount of the Diva lipstick by MAC.

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To get this Fashionista’s locks, go to your local hair salon and request a burgundy color.  If you’re feeling ready for a change this fall, trade in your long locks for an asymmetrical long bob haircut. This Fashionista’s wave is natural but if you are not able to roll out of bed with cute waves in your hair then I recommend investing in a bubble wand to achieve the effortless look.
