ALL IN THE DETAILS: Metal and Stone

Take me back to the time of bell bottoms and real rock and roll, the 1960s and ’70s was a magical time for not only music but also fashion. 1970s inspiration has been seen all over from the runways to street wear the last few years and a trend that has been especially popular this season is raw stone jewelry.

This Fashionista rocks the metal and stone trend with beautiful multicolored dangling stone earrings (that she made herself!), a turquoise stone pendant necklace, and large multicolored silver and stone rings. Whether you’re making your own jewelry like the Fashionista does above or you buy it in a store, there are so many different styles you have to choose from to match with your style and taste.

Mixing ’70s styles with a little modern inspiration, this Fashionista pairs her stone look with a long sleeve pinstriped shirt with a high neckline, low-rise ripped dark wash jeans and a pair of burgundy Mary Jane clogs. The bright colors of the stones bring life to the mostly monochromatic color scheme and adds a earthy, boho vibe which if you haven’t noticed already is one of my favorite trends!

How To: The great thing about stone jewelry is that they can be paired to wear with a variety of different outfits. Dress this trend up with a spring dress, stone statement necklace and nude wedges or keep it simple with a long single stone stone pendent to complement your summer shift dress and brown chunky sandals. Stone jewelry is not only beautiful, but it’s versatile!
