ALL IN THE DETAILS: Down in the Village

As much as I love the concrete jungle, sometimes it’s nice to take a break from New York City and explore a less urban area. Long Island may seem huge, but what I love are all the small towns and how someone always knows someone from somewhere. I like to look at each town as its own city—a community of similar people who follow similar trends. Traveling to different parts of Long Island is exciting; experiencing their lifestyle and seeing what each place has to offer. A favorite spot away from home is Northport, with the cutest village by the water.

This Fashionista is a flawless example of someone who knows their own style in this town. She is wearing a long sleeve black turtleneck that’s tucked in tightly to her mid-rise jeans. Her jeans are cuffed perfectly to show off her black booties, leaving some of her ankles bare. For warmth and style, she pairs her outfit with a black leather jacket.

Her style seems to be influenced by the “all-black everything” trend, while separating the color with the blue in her jeans. There are many different looks that feature different pairings with black shades, which are very easy to incorporate into your own personal wardrobe. Black paired with denim is becoming a new force in the fashion world, and perhaps we’ll see more of it this winter.

As far as accessories go, this Fashionista is wearing a red plaid scarf. The scarf gives off the right amount spark to add more color to the outfit as well make her stand out. Meanwhile, she dresses her hands with bling to bring extra shine. Three silver rings and a cross bracelet volumizes this style, making her chic at every point. This Northport Fashionista has shown us how simple, comfortable, and stylish a trend can be!
