ALL IN THE DETAILS: Destroyed Denim

Spring is finally here, along with the final quarter of the school year. All the lectures, labs and papers are almost over. You know what you have to do to get through the next few weeks to get that A in the class. What you may not know, depending on where you live, is how to dress for the rest of the quarter. Spring weather can be tricky because one day it can be bright and sunny and the next it will be 60 degrees and raining. So, dressing for the ever-changing weather is key to getting through the next spring months.

A perfect example of how to dress for spring with some cool detail is this week’s Fashionista. The Fashionista’s outfit starts with a minimalist essential—something that everyone should have in there closets—a simple black tank top. She pairs the top with a pair of light wash destroyed jeans that have some wiggle room, therefore making them more of a boyfriend style. The jeans are cuffed at the bottom in order to show off the black and gold T-strap sandals. The Fashionista continues with the gold hints with her Marc by Marc Jacobs watch. She also adds pastel colors into the mix on her hands and feet with light pink and lavender nail polish. All of these subtle details contribute to the overall look.

Jeans can be so diverse and is one article of clothing that can be worn year around. The detail of the destroyed denim is what makes the outfit in this case. A lighter wash, like in the case of this Fashionista, or lighter colors and tones in general will always signify the spring/summer season.

How To: Incorporate simple details with big impact like destroyed denim.
