The temperatures are falling as fast as the leaves, and it’s starting to feel like winter here in Boston. I know that there are definitely some Fashionistas out there who are scrambling around their closets, trying to figure out how to transition their pieces gracefully into winter without looking like they forgot to check the weather before they left the house. Have no more fear, though, because I am here to help you figure out what to wear this winter.
I spotted this Fashionista on campus, and I knew that she would be a perfect example of how to transition spring pieces into other seasons. We all know the famous line from The Devil Wears Prada—“Florals for spring? Groundbreaking.” While florals are the obvious choice in the warmer months, they tend to get shoved to the back of the closet during the colder seasons. However, by investing in florals with muted colors, like this shirt, you can wear florals year-round. A statement necklace keeps this look from feeling too plain, and a pair of black booties keeps this look grounded in the season. Layering a plain camisole under this sheer shirt adds a bit of extra warmth to this look. Depending on where you go to school, ripped jeans might be a little too chilly for your liking. Try adding a pair of fun patterned tights underneath for a pop of texture and to keep cozy!
One Simple Change: Need to go straight from class to a girl’s night out? Try throwing on a leather jacket to add a little edge to this girly look.
