WHAT TO WEAR: Tailgating

It’s that time of year again! Classes have officially begun, we have moved into our dorms and apartments and our summer tans are already starting to fade. While I am devastated that both the summer and my tan are not endless, there is one thing that I can’t wait for this fall: football games! If you go to a big school like me where weekends in the fall circulate around who your team plays that weekend, or where you are going to tailgate with your friends, then you probably have the same game day outfit anxiety as I do. On game days here in Blacksburg, VA, there is not one person on the street who is not decked out in our Hokie orange and maroon. With that being said, I like to keep it simple and make sure that I am always comfortable and dressed for the weather.

This Fashonista is game day ready in her maroon off the shoulder dress and cowboy boots. She also paired this outfit with some gold jewelry, including a pair of dark orange teardrop earrings and gold layered necklaces. A flowy off-the-shoulder dress like this is perfect for any game day, because we all know how hot it can get when we are jumping in the stands cheering for our team, (or enter sandman for all my Hokies out there.) The cowboy boots are such a cute addition, and so much easier to walk around in than sandals.

One Simple Change: Take this tailgating outfit and make it the perfect girl’s night out outfit by swapping your cowboy boots out for a pair of wedges. You can also throw on a cross-body bag to keep your necessities in, or grab your favorite clutch.
