WHAT TO WEAR: Making Class More Interesting

We all know going to class can be a bit of a chore, but a good outfit can make or break the day. Feeling good in what I’m wearing improves my mood and can even help me be more productive. So, in this blog I’ll focus on an outfit choice that can not only make you look good, but feel good too.

Dressing for class can be very different than for going out. In my opinion, any killer school outfit needs a balance between being cute and comfortable. This Fashionista, seen on the walk from lunch to my fashion studio, nailed these components. It has been an unseasonably warm winter in Ithaca, NY and she took advantage of a sunny day with her choice to wear a sweater dress and over-the-knee boots.

The dress was made of stretchy knit material that seems warm and easy to move in, perfect for sitting in class, working, and walking around campus. This style of sweater dress with a turtleneck is also very popular right now, catching my eye for its relevance and unique emerald green hue. Her boots dressed up her look without restricting her walking abilities. In addition, they covered enough of her legs to allow her to stay warm without tights.

She accessorized with a gold watch and dangling earrings with gold accents, both working well with the emerald color of her dress and her skin tone. All in all, this Fashionista wore her class outfit without sacrificing comfort or warmth and without having to haul around a coat. Even better, she seemed comfortable in her own skin, always a sign that an outfit’s doing its job!
