WHAT TO WEAR: Internship

With fall internships hitting full swing this week, many students are gearing up to commute from class to the city to pursue their latest interests. Start-ups are always interested in hiring interns, and this Fashionista’s look is perfect for a trendy, up-and-coming office environment.

A modest knee-length dress with an A-line cut has an interesting texture that’s a little more exciting than your average, plain little black dress. While this isn’t necessarily the best outfit for a business professional environment, it’s functional and versatile. The addition of a black leather jacket adds a little edge and will keep you warm on those brisk days in San Francisco.

Tote purses that double as portfolio bags are my absolute favorite must-have for this fall, they’re definitely RAD. You can go straight from work out for dinner with the girls, and your bag makes that transition with you. The key is a neutral color. Black will dress up any outfit–and it’s the easiest to keep clean. Invest in a high quality bag and you’ll use it for years to come.

Don’t forget to stop at your favorite coffee shop on the way! It’ll give you a great jumpstart for the day. You’ll be prepared for that jump in your favorite sneakers, they’re casual and practical for busy Fashionistas on the run. Add a cute and dainty charm necklace and your first day of interning will float by like a breeze.

One Simple Change: Work somewhere a little more formal? Swap out the leather jacket for a classic blazer, and throw on a pair of black patent pumps. You’ll be ready for any work environment.
