WHAT TO WEAR: Fall

Fall: the time for cooler temperatures, changing leaves and ,of course, the time to pull out all of our favorite sweaters, scarves and flannels. Plaid is one of fall’s biggest trends, and it’s obvious that this Fashionista knows how to style her favorite pieces in the most chic way for class.

With the cooler temperatures rolling in, one can sometimes find themselves sacrificing fashion for warmth. However, this ensemble makes it easy to stay warm on those crisp fall days while still being fashion forward. It is perfect for nearly any casual occasion, and I loved how put together she looks without barely even trying. If you’re planning on going to the pumpkin patch, heading off to class or even having a coffee shop date, this is the go-to look for you!

The plaid shirt makes a statement against her army green jacket, subtle gold jewelry and neutral booties that pull the outfit together. The subdued hues of blue, green and red are the perfect colors for fall, and they all work together to create a unified look. She even incorporated some pattern mixing by adding a buffalo check scarf in a similar hue to her flannel button-down shirt. Pattern mixing is another huge trend this season, and I love seeing how my fellow Fashionistas/os around campus mix up their favorite patterns in their everyday looks. To top off this perfect outfit, this Fashionista chose to create a natural, yet stunning makeup look by using neutral hues for her eyeshadow, along with a berry colored lipstick to make a statement.

One Simple Change: Take this look from fall to spring by choosing a flannel in bright or pastel colors to complement the season. Exchange the booties for a simple pair of ballet flats, while keeping the dark denim, army jacket and gold jewelry to make the plaid elements really pop!
