WHAT TO WEAR: Fall

The wait is over and it’s finally starting to feel like fall. I know for many of us, we’ve been dying to break out the scarves and booties we impatiently bought in the preseason. Let me tell you, there’s no better time to wear them than right now because this kind of temperature in Illinois comes and goes without saying goodbye.

When you think of October or just fall in general, of course the first color that comes to mind is orange, and it’s safe to say that orange is not the new black. Luckily for us here at University of Illinois, orange is our school color and we can show our school (and seasonal) pride without looking like we’re way too excited for Halloween. However, for many you non-Illinois students, orange may be a little too ostentatious and may not be the first color in your fall palette. That is totally okay, I won’t take offense. This loud color is worn better in small doses, and this Fashionista does exactly that with her outfit.

What better way to celebrate the weather than a leather jacket and some rustic colors? This Fashionista is doing it right with her oversized leather jacket, which she pairs with a fall-themed blouse, dark-wash jeans and violet booties. The print on her shirt reflects the beautiful scenery that is gradually encompassing the campus and it’s the perfect fall piece for those in the spirit of the season.

One Simple Change: For a quick shift from fall wear to day to night, switch the violet shoes for some leather or suede over-the-knee booties. These shoes are perfect for anytime of day and are a hot commodity right now. It’s no doubt that you will look and feel ready class or a night out on the town with these boots on your feet.
