WHAT TO WEAR: Day to Night

Indian summer is upon us! September is full of fall vibes, yet the summer sun is still lingering. As college is beginning to start back up, this is your time to dress for success. This Fashionista has mastered a couple of new trends, the long pencil skirt, turtleneck and neutral color palate.

The long pencil skirt is no longer a grandma go-to, it is being rocked my stars such as Kim Kardashian and Miranda Kerr. No matter your body type, this skirt is perfect to whittle your waist, enhance your curves and look chic no matter the occasion. Choosing the best A-line skirt for your figure is the key to looking and feeling your best. If you are more concerned with your bottom half, go with a solid or dark skirt, while those very slim girls can add bold patterns to create the illusion of curves.

The A-line pencil skirt is simple yet sexy, which is the perfect combination for transitioning from day to night. When it comes to rocking a pencil skirt to work, a presentation or internship choose a neutral color that is high-waisted. This keeps the look classy while still being able to go straight to a party or happy hour!

You can pair a long pencil skirt with any kind of shirt depending on the occasion. This Fashionista decided to go with a very new style, the sleeveless turtleneck. Turtlenecks in general are going to be very popular this fall and winter. When I first heard of a sleeveless turtleneck I was incredibly unsure, but now I’m a huge fan. They are simply elegant and another great transition piece to fall. Picking a neutral or simple color lets the shape do all the talking.

One Simple Change: Having to go into work or class right before a big evening out? Throw on a blazer and add a classic black purse to tame down the skirt and look professional.
