WHAT TO WEAR: Day to Night

There’s a cool chill that greets me outside my apartment each morning as I walk to class. The sun seems to set a little earlier each evening and jackets are starting to be worn by students all throughout campus. Girls are beginning to wear fashionable boots paired with leggings and guys don’t seem to walk outside without a sweatshirt on their back. Every local Dunkin’ Donuts and Starbucks you go to is pumpkin spice and everything nice. This means only one thing—fall is approaching us.

Some of us are trying desperately to latch on to this last week of summer weather before the fall season officially begins, but let’s face it, going to a college in New England, especially Rhode Island, the weather is constantly changing. Some days it could be 85 degrees and sunny, other days it could be 65 degrees and pouring rain. So what’s a college student to do when it’s that time of year that everyone dreads, that awkward amount of time between summer and fall where figuring out how to dress is a new guessing game every day? That’s why finding an appropriate outfit for the weather and stylish day to night look could really help solve some New Englanders’ problems.

This Fashionista is rocking a classic navy blue sundress, with white triangles to add some accent and flare. The sundress alone may have been perfect for an 80 degree June day, but the reality is that it’s just getting too cold. Adding a cute sweater makes it a perfect fall-time look, while still keeping warm. Because of this, this Fashionista intelligently paired her sundress with a white crocheted long sleeve sweater. During the day when the sun is out and the weather is warm, this Fashionista is still able to stay cool with her bare legs and can have a comfortable look to wear to class, while still dressing girly and flirty. This daytime look transfers perfectly over to night because the black wedges help to dress the look up a bit for any date night or movie outing with friends. Her white sweater will keep her warm when the weather cools down after the sun sets. This look is perfect for any girl who is going crazy trying to figure out what to wear before fall officially begins and who’s looking for a cute and comfy look to rock both during the day and at night.

One Simple Change: Do you have a big presentation during the day where you want to look professional and cute at the same time? Try wearing a thin black belt around your waist to complete the look and make your outfit seem more mature. Your sweater will remain in place and you’ll have the confidence you need to pass that presentation with flying colors!
