WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

The holidays are finally upon us! There is nothing I love more than endless peppermint mochas and Christmas movies. Unfortunately, at Indiana University, the holidays also bring negative temperatures and snow. I will be the first one to admit that I grab the comfiest hoodie and a pair of leggings when I look out my window and there is a foot of snow on the ground. Nonetheless, we must remind ourselves that though we might be warm, suppressing our inner Fashionista/o is not the answer to cold weather! I ran into this Fashionista on campus that shows us how easy it is to stay warm and still look rad.

The great thing about this outfit is that it is made up of staple pieces that you could easily mix and match depending on the occasion. This Fashionista’s textured jacket is feminine and playful against her maroon tunic. Layering is a huge trend this season, especially with different textures. This is a fun trend to play around with and this Fashionista nailed it! I also love the high neckline on this jacket; it just adds a classic touch to the ensemble. However, be cautious when layering different necklines, as it can easily distract from the overall look. Lastly, the riding boots pull it all together by matching the copper buttons on the jacket.

One Simple Change: After a long week of class you deserve to go out with friends! To dress this look up, I would simply switch the riding boots with a pair of booties or heels.
