WHAT TO WEAR: Cold Weather

Leaves are taking flight, finding new homes in the streets we walk. Cold, crisp air is inhaled into our lungs. Winter is among us, which means it’s time for us Fashionistas/os to start dressing for cold weather. Take notes, as this Fashionista shows us how to stay stylish and warm at the same time!

Bodycon midi dresses are taking over the fashion scene. They are not only trendy, but also long enough to give a polished, professional look. Along with being more length-appropriate, midi dresses are incredibly versatile. You can dress them up with a pair of heels and a necklace or throw on a pair of sneakers and your favorite beanie for a more casual look.

This Fashionista paired her midi dress with a scarf featuring one of the season’s staple patterns: plaid. Not only have plaids and flannels become some of the most popular patterns in the world of casual fashion, there are hundreds of ways to rock them! This red, yellow and green plaid scarf contrasts the neutral tones of the dress, making the look pop. Don’t have a plaid scarf? Pick your (or your boyfriend’s) favorite plaid shirt and tie it around your waist for an edgier look.

Continue the winter theme and protect your face from harsh weather (and a bad hair day) with a felt floppy hat. Don’t forget, a great look is never finished without a great pair of shoes. For fall, throw on your favorite pair peep-toe booties to add some drama to your ensemble.

Finish your look off by touching up your brows, adding some contour and highlights and your favorite lipstick. This Fashionista is wearing my favorite shade this fall—NYX Cosmetics’ Soft Matte Lip Creme in shade “Copenhagen.”

One Simple Change: Remove the hat and swap out the scarf with a statement necklace and you’re ready for girl’s night out!
