WHAT TO WEAR: Class

It can be so easy to slip on a pair of flip flops, put on some jean shorts under your pajama shirt and head straight out the door for your summer classes. Although it feels so good to sleep in those few extra minutes in the morning, I often find myself feeling groggy throughout the day just because I didn’t properly prepare myself for the day. It also might be because I am still in my pajamas. Maybe.

This Fashionista inspires those of us in a committed relationship with our snooze buttons to take a break from the morning rush every once in a while. She took that extra two minutes to accessorize her outfit that still keeps her cool, as well as look (and more importantly, feel!) put together for her full day of classes. To keep her outfit looking clean and sleek, she quickly cuffed her button-down shirt at the sleeves and tucked it into a pair of high-waisted jean shorts. The shorts add a bit of gold detail with the buttons that elevate the simple staple and also elongates her body. To continue the gold motif, she accessorized with gold earrings, Alex and Ani bracelets, a rose gold watch and a honeycomb necklace. A pair of pointy-toed beige flats were the perfect subtle addition to not overwhelm the outfit with patterns. A tan KORS Michael Kors bag stores all of her class needs including notebooks, writing tools and her trusty phone charger.

Sometimes it really does take just a few accessories to convince others, and yourself, that you’ve got it together. Something about dressing well not only gives you a boost of energy, but also prepares you to face whatever your professors have in store that day in class. Don’t worry, your comfy pajamas will still be there for you after class.

One Simple Change: Have a full day of classes and then a date with a special someone? Simply switch out the jean shorts for a white midi skirt to go from class to date night.
