WHAT TO WEAR: Class

Now that we are all back on campus and classes are in full swing, it’s only fitting to chat a little bit about what to wear to class. There’s what I like to call a phenomenon that happens on college campuses that occurs between the way students dress and the weeks of classes completed. Week one: everyone dresses to impress. Week two: a considerable amount of Fashionistas and Fashionistos can still be seen walking around campus with some top-notch outfits. Then, week three strikes and dressing up for that early morning class becomes a rarity. Leggings and sweatshirts topped off with that rolled out of bed look, become the norm.

This Fashionista, in the midst of week three, demonstrates that it’s possible to make it to class in something slightly more polished. Taking advantage of the last wave of warm weather, she throws on a simple sundress with a floral pattern. It’s one piece, making it a no-brainer. To carry all of her class essentials, she adds a gorgeous black tote bag that will work year round and will stay with her from class to class and season to season. To add a personal touch, she layers on a number of Alex and Ani bracelets and before heading off to class, she slides on some white and gold T-strap sandals.

While it may seem like putting together a polished look for class past week two is impossible, it’s all about selecting the right pieces for your wardrobe and knowing how to utilize them in the right way at the right time. When the weather cools off and fall truly arrives, this Fashionista could even add a cool oversized denim jacket and switch out the sandals for some ankle booties to stretch this outfit well into the first semester.
