WHAT TO WEAR: Class

Finally, the sweltering D.C. heat has come to end, and a cool fall breeze, along with a changing of the leaves, is here! Of course, a new season means new style, and this Fashionista is wearing the perfect autumn outfit for a day full of classes. Her burgundy jeans paired with a white flowy top create the ultimate combination for a crisp fall day, and the lace detailing on the neckline adds a perfect element of style without being too overdressed for an afternoon lecture. Not to mention the utility (and style) of her Tory Burch York Buckle Tote—it even has a protective case for her laptop! I’m also obsessed with this Fashionista’s metallic watch and layered bracelets; she definitely looks put together without being over the top and hopefully won’t be late to her next class.

For some reason, academic buildings are either as freezing as the Arctic Tundra or have the climate of the Sahara Desert, so throwing on a cardigan to layer with is never a bad idea. I especially adore her cozy cardigan, and anything in a soft caramel hue is a fall must-have because it will match all of your fall essentials. I love the autumn vibe this Fashionista has created by wearing all neutrals but still managing to add a pop of color with her pants. Her leather Sam Edeleman flats are perfect because not only do they add to the color scheme of the look, but they are super comfortable which is a necessity when you only have a few minutes in between classes that are probably (and unfortunately) on opposite sides of campus. Overall, this Fashionista has nailed the “effortlessly-chic” look for class and has implemented the perfect fall details in each of her pieces from head to toe. This is the perfect outfit for fashion meets function; she clearly knows how to dress to impress, and I hope her professors feel the same way!

One Simple Change: Grabbing a bite to eat with a friend after a hectic day of class and studying? Ditch the tote bag and switch it out for a patterned clutch. Changing handbags is an easy way to dress up your outfit, and a fun metallic shade or animal print will add to your neutral look. Depending where you are going out to eat, you can even swap out your flats for a pair of high heeled booties, and replace your stacked bracelets with bangles in the same metallic and neutral shades as the rest of your outfit.
