WHAT TO WEAR: Back To School

September 24th, 2015 at 2:00am

As all of us Fashionistas/os head back to school there is one question on all of our minds, what do I wear?

For me, the answer to this question is particularly difficult. So far while studying abroad in Florence, Italy it is clear that how you dress is how you are viewed as an individual. The styles here are top-notch, making it that much harder to stand out. In Italy, simplicity is key. However, with this minimalist outlook on fashion it becomes tricky to express yourself while keeping your style simple. So to go back to school in style, it is important to keep your style looking effortless, yet chic and trendy.

To get ready to go back to school, this Fashionista is rocking tribal-printed jogger pants complete with front pockets and a drawstring. The pants hit just above the hips, flattering this Fashionista’s figure flawlessly. She pairs the pants with a tucked in, simple black tank top in order to show off the fun pattern of her pants. Not only is her look super fashionable, but it is also exceptionally comfortable. Her full-on cotton look is the ideal outfit for sitting in long college lectures and classes.

The entire outfit is tied together with brown and gold accessories. Since it is time to head back to school, every Fashionista/o needs the perfect back-to-school bag. This textured, brown bag is ideal for books and even has room for personal items such as makeup or a wallet. The bag is complete with gold detailing, a magnetic snap and a cross-body strap. To match the bag and the rest of her accessories, this Fashionista chose brown, leather sandals with gold detailing. After all the walking to and from class, this Fashionista has the right idea in wearing comfortable sandals on the cobblestone streets of Italy. The final accessory is her gold pendant necklace. The contrast between the gold necklace and plain black tank top highlights the necklace just the right amount.

This Fashionista does a great job keeping her accessories to a minimum in order to balance the focus between her patterned pants and simple necklace. Her hair and makeup also complement her look extremely well. By keeping her hair natural and putting on a small amount of makeup, this Fashionista’s look fits perfectly with the minimalist trend of Italy.

One Simple Change: To change this cute back-to-school look into a trendy, date night outfit, switch up the accessories. Start by going from brown accessories to black in order to dress up the outfit. Swap out the big, brown school bag for a small, fringed, black cross-body purse. Also, trade out the brown sandals for some black, platform wedges. Add a gold statement necklace and this Fashionista will be ready to hit the streets of Italy.
