WHAT TO WEAR: Back to School

As a student who commutes to school, I often contemplate getting dressed up for class but going the extra mile pays off. Going the extra mile may require scheduling your alarm ten minutes ahead, and that is all you need. With some extra time on your side, you can double check your outfit, hair and bag for essentials. Oh, also grab your favorite cup of joe because you’re going to need it. When you look your best, you feel your best and a positive mind is crucial for a long day ahead.

As a teen, I was eager to begin another school year, excited to see my fellow classmates and what they were wearing. Haha, Clique much? Little did I know, this habit was a source of inspiration that would stick with me for a lifetime. Till this day, I love to see what my peers are wearing. Unlike Instagram or Pinterest, I can’t snap a photo of their outfit, but I’m fortunate enough to have a photographic memory! I simply put this inspiration to use by trying something new or spicing up an old classic.

I love this Fashionista’s look—it is the perfect transition from summer to fall. To create this look, she used her summer basics to emphasize her favorite fall pieces. She’s obsessed with her rust crochet cardigan and I totally second that. This gorgeous earthy hue is kicking military green aside this fall/winter. Her neutral tone ALDO booties complement the outfit and provide great comfort. I’m a huge fan of accessories; I love, love, love her layered necklaces. The silver tone jewelry creates a cool balance against the warmth of rust and brown!

One Simple Change: If you’ve made last minute plans for a night of fun, just add a pinkish nude lip and switch your backpack for a shoulder bag.
