This Trend is Right Up Your Sleeve

When it comes to dressing for the weather these days, no one can be too sure where to start. Last week in New York it was 60-degrees one day, then a legit snowstorm the next. I have a feeling this spring is going to be filled equally uncertain weather, which means your wardrobe has to be versatile and adapt on a whim.

Luckily, it appears that one this spring’s biggest trends is all about going with the flow, literally. Flowy, decorative sleeves are everywhere this winter and are predicted to only pick up momentum as the weather gets warmer. They provide just the right about of coverage without being too heavy. Plus, how fun do your arms look as they naturally swing by your side when walking to class?

This is not a one-style-fits all trend either. Meaning you can find a sleeve that’s right up your, well, sleeve. Check out the five detailed sleeves we’re currently digging!

Amp up your basic looks: Hey all you minimalists out there! Next time when you’re throwing on a simple black top, consider changing it to a bell sleeve top to add some extra pizzazz to your look.

Spring style: Florals for spring may not be groundbreaking, but looking for dresses with flowing sleeves is. Try some lace bell sleeves in your next LWD for a ’70s, bohemian princess look that is.

Season-less details: A white ruffle long sleeve top will work whether it’s a cold wintery night or warm spring day. Thrown on a pair of high-waisted jeans and you are set no matter what Al Roker forecasts your day will bring.

Tying it all together: These tie sleeves are super cute for when you want to to get “wrapped” up in this trend but aren’t a fan of extreme volume.

That unexpected piece: Dress pants, dress coat, dress…sleeves? Yes, it’s a thing (or at least we are making it one). We love the idea of fur, leather, eyelet, or even jewel embellished sleeves to dress up your favorite look or just want some unexpected flair.
