Carrie Bradshaw’s newspaper dress, Holly Golightly’s black dress from the opening scene of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Andie Anderson’s yellow dress from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. These are some of the most iconic outfits in all of cinematic history if you ask me, and with the resurgence in popularity of the 2003 Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey romantic comedy, I can confidently say I am not alone in this thought.
Currently, one of the final scenes from the movie, How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, is a trending sound on TikTok. In this scene, Andie Anderson, played by Kate Hudson, and Benjamin Berry, played by Matthew McConaughey, perform their rendition of “You’re So Vain” by Carly Simon at a fancy gala for Ben’s advertising job. TikTok uses the clip where Andie sings “and other girls dream that they’d be Ben’s partner” where creators tell jokes about what they do that makes them lose a guy faster than ten days.
While this is all in good fun, the most memorable part of this scene is the iconic yellow satin, low-back gown that Andie wears during all of this. Personally, I have drooled over this dress since I first watched the movie all those years ago, and if you are like me, you know how impossible it is to find it. So, here at College Fashionista, we decided to do the hard work for you, and round up the best dupes for this iconic, timeless dress because who doesn’t want to live in an early-2000s rom-com?
