You try to avoid it as much as possible. You take the long way home from class; catch-up with all your roommates on the last two hours of everyone’s lives; call every living relative just to say “hi;” you even stoop so low as to actually do your laundry. But eventually, you do have to sit down at your desk and study.
Just because the material you are studying may not be super interesting, doesn’t mean your desk situation has to be boring. Creating the perfect desk set-up sets you up for success. With these tips, just add countless hours of studying, late nights, tons of coffee, some luck and boom—that A+ is yours!
Check out the anatomy of the perfect college desk set-up!
1—An agenda. Sure the “Notes” and “Calendar” apps on your iPhone are great and all; but actually writing out and keeping track of your schedule, assignments, meetings and more in a single place sets you up for success. (Photo via @threadedco)
2—Stationary and sticky notes. Because there is nothing more gratifying in the world than physically crossing something off your to-do list. Am I right? (Photo via @amandapenelope_)
3—A comfy chair. You are going to be there a while. Might as well invest in some stylish back support. (Photo via @lablogueuseblonde)
4—Lighting. Desk lamps are so basic. We are all about string lights to make sure your study session is lite in every sense of the word. (Photo via @jordanflyley)
5—Inspiration board. An inspired space equals a more productive space. Create your very own vision board by pinning motivational quotes, images and photos to keep you motivated long after the coffee wears off. (Photo via @hhaleybbrandt)
6—Greenery. Whether you opt for a terrarium, succulent or vase of flowers, having some greenery in your work space is an instant mood booster (and gives you something to care for outside the confines of your textbooks). (Photo via @river.hooks)
