STYLE GURU STYLE: Two-Toned Dreams

Nothing truly encapsulates the beginning of the school year like a new pair of jeans. Thanks to the brilliant designers at Vetements and trend setters like Alexa Chung and Bella Hadid, two-toned jeans are the new must-haves for fall.  What makes two-toned jeans a little more interesting than their regular-wash counterparts is the stitching at the bottom. The distinctive stitching, sewing one shorter length onto the front of a longer pair, creates an interesting use of length. Some may also have a nice fringe detail on the bottom or a clean wide ankle fit. Needless to say, two-toned jeans are juxtaposed between bold design and the classic simplicity of jeans.

Street style stars experiment with two-toned jeans, by dressing them up with a nice pair of heels and a duster, or playing off of the Vetements cool girl vibes by wearing a simple T-shirt and a pair of sneakers. These jeans are a secret weapon for your closet on the days when you feel like you have nothing to wear. They are versatile and can easily fit into everybody’s different style.

For my personal take on this season’s denim trend, I wanted to mix Scandinavian style with Vetements eternally cool style, with a sprinkle of edge. I paired my jeans with a fitted high neck white short-sleeved top and added a skinny black scarf to add a certain chicness to it. To add a fun touch, I took inspiration from Stella McCartney’s platform loafers to give my outfit height and edge. I love this outfit because is it is comfortable, effortlessly cool and I can wear it anywhere.
