STYLE GURU STYLE: The Secret to Staying Chic and Class Casual

So, I think it’s safe to say just about everyone has their go-to class look, especially for those lazy days from late study nights where the goal is to be chic with as little effort as possible. I also believe it’s safe to say jeans and leggings are a common go-to on many college campuses, which is why I would like to share with you my effortless go-to and the secret behind the style.

Of course, I am just as guilty of reaching for what I call my “comfy jeans” on my lazy days. Surprisingly enough, I found these subtly patterned pants at Meijer as I made my way through their clothing section while my family continued to grocery shop. I love the subtle polka dots on these pants because they can make any simple outfit even the slightest bit more intriguing. However, the subtle pattern isn’t necessarily the secret ingredient to an effortless trend.

Fortunately for us, scarves have been a warm and consistent trend for as long as I can remember, and I have never been more excited to say that we are living in the time of the blanket scarf, which just seems to solve all the world’s problems. Lazy morning but want to look cute? Blanket scarf. Freezing either indoors or outside? Blanket scarf. Just want a diverse accessory? Blanket scarf. The best part about having such a versatile accessory, is that you have a wide array of outfits to pair it with. These scarves look fantastic with dresses, skirts, jeans, leggings, etc.

I know I have paired my blanket scarves with a multitude of outfits in the past, but this casual style I share with you shows the scarf paired with my “comfy jeans” of course, as well as an olive-toned jacket I purchased from PacSun. I completed my look with a leather, reversible tote, used to carry my books for class, from American Eagle Outfitters, along with matching leather heeled boots from Urban Outfitters.
