STYLE GURU STYLE: The Pale Print

I will be the first to admit I am a simple fashion kind of gal. I am a sucker for a plain white T-shirt and feel the most comfortable in my little black dress and a classic jean jacket. I absolutely love prints but pulling them off can take more time and effort than I am willing to put into every day. This is why I am obsessed with the resort 2016 BCBGMAXAZRIA collection. The collection is a mix of all the fabulous basics from a white blazer to a jean shirt and black booties. Each of these basics is then paired with a pale print dress, pants or skirt. I love this look because it makes it so much easier and casual to pull off prints.

This is why I love this Free People mini-dress. The pattern on the dress doesn’t grab your attention right away, which is perfect for me. That might sound strange because oftentimes, fashion is focused on making a statement. However, there is beauty in the simplicity of the pattern and material. It is not overwhelming at all and the pale pink is good for just about any season with the right pairings. I pair it with these simple sandals in the summer and love wearing it with tights and my black leather jacket for fall. I love patterns and want to be able to wear them casually all the time. A bright orange printed maxi dress can be beautiful and perfect for the right occasion, but probably not for every day.

Get My Look: 1. Start out by choosing your pale print article of clothing. 2. Pair with all the basics, like a cardigan or plain blouse. 3. Slip on some simple sandals or booties to pull the look together.
