STYLE GURU STYLE: The Cool Romantic

During my free time, I love browsing through fashion shows. This is one of my favorite ways to get a little fashion inspiration, and it is a really great way because designers create their collections and shows from their own inspiration and unique vision. I recently got inspired by Isabel Marant’s spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection. This collection is filled with tiered skirts, fun florals, ruffles and soft-colored ensembles. I decided to try it out in my own wardrobe and I was very pleased with the outcome.

I would describe my own personal style as classic and feminine, so it wasn’t too hard for me to figure out how I could emulate the looks and overall vibe of this collection. I decided to wear a blush, knit sweater which is light enough to wear during warmer months. I think everyone should have an airy, oversized sweater like this one that can be transitioned into any season. I tucked one side of this sweater into a tiered floral skirt with polka-dots. This skirt adds a lot of pizazz, but any busyness was offset with the blush sweater. I finished off my look with rope wedges and a cognac-colored cross-body bag.

The vibe of Isabel Marant’s spring 2014 ready-to-wear collection is already somewhat apparent in my style, so I just had to tweak my outfit a little bit to get my desired look. Isabel Marant has a way of designing clothes that empower women and make every woman feel cool. She targets the tough yet romantic type which is something I love. I definitely felt cool and confident in my own Isabel Marant-inspired outfit, and that is the exact way that fashion should make you feel.
