The A.W.A.K.E. spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection was definitely one for the books. The effortlessly chic ensembles featured a variety of abstract prints and an array of vibrant colors. The collection highlighted the versatility of the bold minimalist style. Black and white dominated much of the collection adding a monochrome ambiance throughout the looks. What made me love this collection was its simple hemlines and subtle prints. I fell in love with the freshness of the looks, even the all-black ones. This collection is a great example of not needing a widespread array of color to achieve the perfect spring look.

For this look, I went for a light and airy outfit to complement the beautiful weather we have been experiencing in Syracuse. To stay consistent with the collection, I paired this white flowy dress with floral cutouts and a light wash denim jacket. I chose black booties over strappy sandals to give the look some structure. I kept my accessories to a minimum to keep the attire light. I love pairing black and white together in the springtime as it gives off a really crisp and fresh look.

This spring 2015 show inspired me to keep with my monochromatic and minimalistic style this season. Contrary to popular belief, black and white is just as appropriate for the spring as it is in winter and fall. It is a dressier combination, but when paired with the right pieces it can be just as causal.

Get My Look: 1. Floral cutout dress. 2. Booties with gold detailing. 3. Denim jacket.
