STYLE GURU STYLE: Tall Lace-Up Boots

I hope you all have been keeping warm in the everlasting cold. Even though we have not had the worst of winters so far on the east coast, the brisk cold wind and the gloomy days have got as all constantly reaching for our comfy sweats. This weather is really giving us some serious difficulty staying warm all while staying cute. So, this month, I am bringing you some inspiration so you can keep your coats away and your internal body heat at normal body temperature. Strap up Fashionistas, because this week we are delving into one of my favorite fall 2015 statement pieces: the lace-up boot.

The beauty of this piece has been well displayed on the runway, my inspiration came from a look featuring this beautiful pair of lace-up boots from the Vionnet fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. The edgy, dark side of me has been coming through a whole lot lately, especially with the heavy college course load that has got me stressing out constantly and the freezing cold weather, which has got me dressing how I feel.

Don’t get me wrong, I still absolutely love my entire ankle boot collection, but ,lately, I have been reaching for these since they cover pretty much a majority of my legs in leather, providing me with some serious insulation all while hiding my funky fuzzy socks which lie underneath. Also, who doesn’t love a little bit of lace-up action? These boots have made everything so easy to style because they are so versatile. They easily make every ensemble I put together look ten times more fashionable while still providing with some serious comfort. Also, the heel adds an extra feminine touch, making it the perfect boot for a woman who is on the go on a daily basis.

In this look, I made sure all the colors in the ensemble were relatively warm and comfortable. On the top, I am wearing a very breathable yet thick turtleneck sweater along with a classic leather jacket on top just for extra reinforcement. On the bottom, I am wearing some charcoal, high-waisted skinny jeans and of course, the main item of the look, my knee-high, lace-up leather boots. For accessories, I topped off the look with a light blue linen scarf, black leather cross body bag and some kitty-inspired sunglasses for a bit of extra edge (although, to be honest, I don’t really know why I am wearing sunglasses because there is never any sun anymore *cries*).

I hope this inspired all of you fellow Fashionistas to go out and get yourselves a pair of your own lace-up boots. They might be an investment, but take my word for it, they are such an amazing piece that you will be styling for the years to come. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of the winter, and don’t forget to stay warm and stay stylin’! Keep it #RAD.
