STYLE GURU STYLE: Style Guru Out!

Wow! Is this really my last article for CollegeFashionista? Crazy how time flies when you’re having a #RAD time. Looking back at my experience with CollegeFashionista, I realized my love for fall/winter wear. Oddly enough, I now live in the Sunshine State where it rarely gets cold, but when it does I try to utilize some of my favorite seasonal pieces! Why let a little warmth put a damper on your cozy spirit, am I right?

For this look I started off with a black wool-blend overcoat. I snagged mine last year on sale! These overcoats never lose relevance, so if you don’t have one in your closet, what are you doing? Go out and grab one! I promise you won’t regret it. As a big fan of black and gray tones, and as I mentioned back in my August Style Guru Bio, I planned to “Incorporate more statement pieces into my wardrobe to amplify the power of the color black.”

Well, I think I accomplished that with my gray denim shirt. It breaks up my black jeans and overcoat well by keeping it within the same spectrum. In addition, I paired it with brown Chelsea boots; I scored mine for 49 cents at Ross, believe it or not. Lastly, this season I have been on a maroon frenzy! It’s why I bought this #RAD maroon bandana for a last touch of fall as we head into the winter season. Since I’m originally from Texas, I thought I’d try what personal stylist Kristina Zias calls “The Boy Scout” knot. It’s pretty easy to accomplish and fun to wear!

I hope you enjoyed journeying through fashion with me, as much as I did! And remember, continue to aspire to inspire.
