STYLE GURU STYLE: Spring Shirt And Skirt Combo

Michael Kors is one of my favorite designers in the whole industry. His collections are always very polished and sophisticated. His spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection is no exception. I loved the flattering silhouettes. Personally, I adore midi swing skirts for daytime, and Michael Kors had that all throughout his collection. This certainly helps a girl feel comfortable, fresh and ready to go to class or work without worrying about looking inappropriate. Also, his collection included everything from floral and denim to all-black. This allows all Fashionistas the opportunity to get some inspiration from this mastermind of fashion.

Spring is finally here! I knew that I wanted to start this season with something I really liked, and I was so pleased with the collection that today I decided to channel my inner Michael Kors. So I wore something similar to what Brazilian model Caroline Trentini wore on the runway. However, I did make some changes to make it fit my style a bit more. I switched the midi skirt, (which is gorgeous, but sadly not available in this girl’s closet), to a skater skirt with lace details. I also changed the length of the sleeve from long to a short one to fit Mexico’s not so great weather. Since this combination of colors is not something I usually do for my outfits, I felt a bit odd and like something was missing. I added a pop of color with my absolute favorite animal print wedges and a red handbag.

The Michael Kors spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection was a complete stunner! I certainly believe that I will keep using his amazing work as inspiration. I look forward to seeing what he can bring to all of us Fashionistas in the future.
