STYLE GURU STYLE: Pretty In Pink

I have said it before, and I will say it again: fall here in Florida does not mean it is cold or even chilly. The rare day that it does drop below 80 degrees is a day to celebrate! Since the weather still has not caught up with the season, sweaters and boots haven’t quite wormed their way into my daily ensemble. But that doesn’t mean that I am still wearing my summer wardrobe! A new season brings with it new chances to pair together new outfits and fun clothing combinations.

My personal style is somewhere between “I’m trying really hard to look cute” and “I literally woke up 20 minutes ago and didn’t have time to brush my hair.” Lately my favorite (and easiest) look to put together has been a high-waisted skirt and a crop top. The skirt and shirt that I have put together for this look are flattering because the skirt hits right at the thinnest part of my waist and meets the shirt without exposing my midriff. This black circle skirt is universal: I can pair it with any crop top or normal blouse tucked in, and it automatically forms an outfit. The pale pink crop top has a high neck which creates a fun juxtaposition with my skirt’s shorter hemline. Even though it’s technically fall, it’s not quite all about burnt oranges and dark hues; the pastels can still add a fun element to any outfit.

In order to elongate my legs, I’ve paired my black skirt with black tights and ankle boots. By matching my entire body from the waist down in the same color, it will make my legs looks longer and blend in well. I decided to rock my new favorite tights for this look: polka dots! They add a more fun element than plain black tights, and they just look oh so adorable. My black ankle boots have been my go-to shoes of the season! They go with just about everything and make any outfit seem just that much more put together.

Finishing off my look, I’ve layered two of my favorite necklaces. One was a gorgeous present and the other is my old class ring on a chain; although I don’t wear it anymore, it’s still a fun memento to keep close to my heart. Layering necklaces can truly add depth to any outfit; always a fun way to spice up any T-shirt and jeans!
