STYLE GURU STYLE: Pops of Color

If there are two things that I love this spring, they are undoubtedly fur and color! This look from Mads Nørgaard’s fall 2015 show was perfect inspiration for a beginning-of-spring outfit that is both cute and appropriate for those days that are undecided as to whether they want to be warm or cool. My favorite things about this are its amazing fur jacket that is perfect for spring temperatures and its pop of bright colour.

To recreate this look, I started with the statement piece—the fur jacket. Unfortunately, I do not have any popping pink, bright fur jackets but I do have a beautiful tan fur jacket from Forever 21!

To get the pop of colour, I decided to use my accessories and the pattern of my blouse to give the same popping effect that the bright pink jacket from Mads Nørgaard has. I decided to use red as my color and picked my favourite boldly patterned blouse from Sheinside and paired it with some bright matching accessories, such as my favourite red hat and my bright red boots, and topped the look off with some matching red lipstick. I chose these chunky boots to imitate the style of the shoe from the runway look with the shine, the wide shape and the pronounced sole.

I kept the pants simple with some light wash jeans, stealing the idea of high-waisted, cropped jeans from the runway look.

My version of the look still has the same “pow” effect coming from the bursts of bright red, but I also was able to change the original look to fit what I had in wardrobe and my personal style.

Get My Look: 1. A fur jacket. 2. At least one brightly colored piece. (It could be shoes, a shirt, a pair of pants, a bag or even a few different pieces.) 3. A pair of boots.
