One runway trend that hasn’t yet hit the streets is the pajama-like vibe of the spring 2016 ready-to-wear Calvin Klein collection. The collection features silky lingerie materials cut into modern/ extremely mainstream silhouettes. In order to make it more realistic for daily wear, I had to take my inspiration from this runway look in a less literal sense, but I still hoped to capitalize on the overall laid back vibe that the collection offered.
I used this as an opportunity to pull out a pair of my favorite palazzo pants. I actually have quite a few pairs of this style. Because of their versatility, they can be dressed up or down to fit your needs. Plus they are super comfortable! I also kept with the very bohemian, flowy style and silky fabric theme in my top for this outfit.
The Calvin Klein collection used a lot of black and white fabrics, as well as some floral prints, but with it being the spring season I really decided to have some fun with colors and patterns in this look by pairing a wildly-patterned pant with a plain colored top.
The elephant watch and the gladiator sandals have no significant reference to the runway look, but they are both staples in many outfits I wear (I mean you can never have too many things with elephants on them, am I right?). I thought they helped pull the whole look together. Now, the only thing this look is missing is a killer plum lipstick to match my top, and then it would definitely be one of my go-to outfits.
