STYLE GURU STYLE: Never Cringe in Fringe

What’s more trendy and elegant than a black fringe skirt? It’s so versatile, goes with everything, and you can dress it up or down. You can never go wrong with a little black skirt, I’d argue it may even be better than having a little black dress.

Taking inspiration from Fashion Fringe spring 2013 ready-to-wear collection, I picked out my black fringe skirt and paired it with my Le Motto V-neck shirt to keep me motivated throughout the day. With my fringe skirt on, and some of my favorite words to live by, nothing could make me cringe that day. I wore my Vince Camuto lace-up heels to finish off my black and white classic look.

Little black skirts go with absolutely everything and anything. For that reason, they are a must-have piece in your closet. You pair it with any top and it goes perfectly. Black on black, black with blue, black and white like I did, any color combination works. That’s why I say having a black skirt is better than having a black dress. You wear a black dress once and everyone knows you wore it. You wear your little black skirt, and change the top and accessories and not as many people will notice.

My Le Motto shirt worked perfectly with the skirt, not only because it made clear that I was striving for elegance in this outfit, but also because white V-necks are another key essential piece to have in your closet. They also go with any bottom you can think of pairing them with. I dressed up my look by finishing it off with my black Vince Camuto lace-up heels. Again, you can never go wrong with black or white.
